My Personal Training and Group Fitness philosophy is based on positive energy, intensity and having fun. I help my clients and class participants incorporate health and fitness into their individual lives, and teach them how to exercise correctly to build self-confidence in and out of the gym. As a former recreational and competitive bodybuilder I always based my own training regimen only on building muscle and burning fat, never truly focusing on the power of functional movements and mobility. In 2012 I was introduced to Hard-Style Kettlebell training and CrossFit and my love of fitness was reinvigorated. I learned quickly that true fitness is not what you see in the mirror, but mentally and physically feeling your best as a result of the effort you put in, everyday. I dedicate my coaching to help others achieve the same, everyday!

"Health and fitness have always been major priorities throughout my entire life. After years of competitive sports, I began realizing how much posture and proper lifting techniques were essential for every type of goal. My approach to personal training is based off of education. Educating my clients through the proper phases of training: stabilization, strength and power, ensures exercise becomes a lifestyle change were the benefits are noticed in everyday life right away. I love training, and am very adamant about my clients reaching their goals, whatever they may be."

NASM Certified Personal Trainer

My passion for healthy living sprouted from my own personal battles with nutrition and exercise. After an injury I incurred through running, I once and for all discovered the importance of form and function, and that proper nutrition is crucial to reaching any goal.

Building a strong and stable base to condition and strength train from is key no matter your goals. I believe that a step up approach through stabilization, strength and power yield the best, and most long lasting results. The benefits of physical health are immeasurable- mentally, emotionally and financially.

“Living an active healthy lifestyle has always been an important personal goal. In my 30’s, life as a full-time mom provided the greatest challenges to that healthy lifestyle with significant weight gain and indications that I was pre-diabetic. Fortunately my 40’s have been transformational. Not only have I learned to pay more attention, once again, to the needs of my body and mind but I have discovered a passion to work with others to improve their quality of life through personal training and group fitness instruction.

My focus as a personal trainer is to develop a balanced program that is fun, flexible and goal oriented. Whether you need greater balance and stability, a structured post-rehab program or need to make positive lifestyle changes, I would love to help you reach your goals!”

Physique building, education, motivation, accountability, and support are the fundamentals of my approach to personal training. I seek to invigorate my clients with exciting programs, guide them to their health goals, and teach them not only the "how" but the "why". I have a holistic approach to fitness that includes exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle; I custom tailor routines to suit each individual. My goal is not only to train, but to coach and provide a foundation so that my clients can continue to achieve their goals and make good "life" decisions even when they are not in session. My skills are multi-disciplinary and I apply a variety of techniques to achieve weight loss, weight/muscle gain, or performance improvement. Whether you want to run your first marathon, shave time off of your Seattle-to-Portland ride, lose 5% body fat, gain twenty pounds, or fit into a smaller dress size, I can assist you. As someone who has undergone a major transformation (both in terms of body fat and conditioning), I have an intimate understanding of what it takes to succeed and keep my clients continuously challenged and motivated.

The path to self-confidence is paved by exercise, fitness, and a healthy lifestyle. My goal is to help you feel great in your own skin. With sixteen years of competitive swimming, multiple triathlons, quality time in the physical therapy field, and a photographer’s eye for detail, my life experiences have made me realize the importance of proper form and function. My training style involves educating clients as I guide them through proper stabilization, strength and power. When I’m not at the gym you can find me planning my next cycling adventure, heading into the mountains with friends, connecting with family or scouring the farmer’s market for fresh food. My goal is to make my passion for health and wellness contagious so you feel excited and happy with your fitness results!

I am a Ballard native and started my passion for health & fitness years ago by focusing on my own goals and knowing that I want to live a healthy, fulfilling life.

My focus as a trainer and instructor is to help people by assessing their fitness goals & daily lifestyle. I will help them accomplish these goals through functional training with strength, cardio and total body exercises. I like to help people with proper form to get the full benefit of each exercise. I enjoy working with women in particular who may not have the knowledge about strength training but want to learn more about it and how it can help them become stronger, improve performance and feel good about themselves.

I want to help people find the same happiness and self-confidence that I have found and enjoy, by being the healthiest person they can be for years to come.

All my life I loved and played sports including football, water polo, wrestling, swimming and diving. After High School I made the decision to join the United States Army. During my service I joined the 75th Ranger Regiment and served on multiple deployments. This is where I learned how important multi-joint movements and flexibility are. While in the service I was introduced to CrossFit and it became a major part of my life. I fell in love with it. After completing my service I became a CrossFit Trainer so I could inspire and teach others the benefits of CrossFit and the importance of mobility. I have dedicated many hours of training to becoming the best Coach I can be and together, in our CrossFit community, we will achieve superior strength, health and fitness.

“Having a strong background in biological sciences made me realize the importance of the human body, and how fitness and nutrition play a vital role in our lives. This became more evident after becoming a mother when your health, self-esteem and energy levels are important, not only for yourself but for those around you. My aim as a personal trainer is based on building your body and confidence by encompassing strength training, cardio and full body workouts that are based on the principle of stabilization, strength and power”

“Fitness has always been a part of my life since before I can even remember. Growing up playing sports I learned firsthand the benefits of working out and making great, healthy food choices as a means of optimizing my performance both athletically as well as performing simple daily tasks. Over the years I have become more focused on the human body's amazing ability to adapt and overcome challenges including injuries and chronic illness or pain. Being a personal trainer for me is teaching my clients the essential benefits of incremental lifestyle changes to stay on a successful path to achieving their personal goals. I specialize in injury prevention (pre-habilitation), rehabilitation, sports performance, weight loss, nutrition, stability, flexibility and optimizing functional movements."

Eric Hanson
NSCA – CSCS
NPTI – CPT

I have always had a love of sports and competed in everything from golf to basketball while I was growing up. In high school I was a track and field athlete competing at the varsity level for four years in shot put and discus.

I continued weight training throughout college, but after graduating and accepting a corporate job, I gained over fifty pounds. After losing the weight and getting back in shape, I became deeply passionate about health and fitness and dedicated my professional life to helping others of all ages and abilities achieve their fitness goals.

I attended National Personal Training Institute before earning my CSCS certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and have been training professionally for the last three years. I am excited to work with members of the OAC, and love building unique programs help every individual achieve their goals.

I specialize in:
  • Fat loss/body composition
  • Sports performance and conditioning
  • Corrective exercise and self-myofascial release
  • Strength training
  • Hypertrophy (muscle building)
