Our Personal Training Staff:

Kyle Hyde

Fitness Director

CrossFit L-1 Trainer

Functional Movement Specialist

My Personal Training and Group Fitness philosophy is based on positive energy, intensity and having fun. I help my clients and class participants incorporate health and fitness into their individual lives, and teach them how to exercise correctly to build self-confidence in and out of the gym. As a former recreational and competitive bodybuilder I always based my own training regimen only on building muscle and burning fat, never truly focusing on the power of functional movements and mobility. In 2012 I was introduced to Hard-Style Kettlebell training and CrossFit and my love of fitness was reinvigorated. I learned quickly that true fitness is not what you see in the mirror, but mentally and physically feeling your best as a result of the effort you put in, everyday. I dedicate my coaching to help others achieve the same, everyday!

“I can’t stress the importance of strength training for improving performance, self-confidence and one’s quality of life. My main goal is to create effective exercise routines that compliment an individual’s hectic lifestyle. With my help you will improve your overall fitness, sports performance and self image.”

Paige Dumler

NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Assistant Fitness Director

NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist

NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist

My passion for healthy living sprouted from my own personal battles with nutrition and exercise. After an injury I incurred through running, I once and for all discovered the importance of form and function, and that proper nutrition is crucial to reaching any goal.

Building a strong and stable base to condition and strength train from is key no matter your goals. I believe that a step up approach through stabilization, strength and power yield the best, and most long lasting results. The benefits of physical health are immeasurable- mentally, emotionally and financially.

“Living an active healthy lifestyle has always been an important personal goal. In my 30’s, life as a full-time mom provided the greatest challenges to that healthy lifestyle with significant weight gain and indications that I was pre-diabetic. Fortunately my 40’s have been transformational. Not only have I learned to pay more attention, once again, to the needs of my body and mind but I have discovered a passion to work with others to improve their quality of life through personal training and group fitness instruction. My focus as a personal trainer is to develop a balanced program that is fun, flexible and goal oriented. Whether you need greater balance and stability, a structured post-rehab program or need to make positive lifestyle changes, I would love to help you reach your goals!”

Debra Bailly

NASM Certified PT

P90X Certified Instructor

Insanity Certified Instructor

I am a Ballard native and started my passion for health & fitness years ago by focusing on my own goals and knowing that I want to live a healthy, fulfilling life. My focus as a trainer and instructor is to help people by assessing their fitness goals & daily lifestyle. I will help them accomplish these goals through functional training with strength, cardio and total body exercises. I like to help people with proper form to get the full benefit of each exercise. I enjoy working with women in particular who may not have the knowledge about strength training but want to learn more about it and how it can help them become stronger, improve performance and feel good about themselves. I want to help people find the same happiness and self-confidence that I have found and enjoy, by being the healthiest person they can be for years to come.

My aim as a personal trainer is based on building your body and confidence by encompassing strength training, cardio and full body workouts that are based on the principle of stabilization, strength and power”

I'm Eric Hanson. I'm a personal trainer who has been in this industry for over four years. Personal training is all about helping you look, feel and perform better than you ever thought possible. My job is to motivate, encourage and educate you along the way to reaching your fitness goals. Years ago, before I became a personal trainer, I worked a corporate job and lived a sedentary lifestyle. I was fifty pounds over-weight, and despite trying every fad diet and “get ripped quick” scheme on the market, getting in shape was a constant struggle. It wasn't until I committed to a professionally designed training program and diet plan that I was able to lose the weight. Now, five years later, I am more than fifty pounds lighter and stronger than I've ever been in my life. I specialize in body composition, weight loss and toning – I am proud to offer my services to the members of the Olympic Athletic Club.

Together, we will find a program that is exciting to you. One that fits into your life and pushes your threshold. Get ready to work hard and feel fantastic!” After completing her B.A. in Theater Arts with a focus in movement and stage combat she completed her Personal Training Certification through the American Council on Exercise. She has continued pursuing new certifications and fitness knowledge with no end in sight. Melissa holds a specialization from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in Corrective Exercises, is a Crossfit Level one Trainer, and is taking classes on track for a degree in Physical Therapy. If she’s not out on the gym floor you’ll hear her in the Crossfit Studio as Kraken Crossfit’s evening coach, or on stage at the improv, or face down on the ground passed out from exhaustion.

Andrew O’Connor

TRX L-1 Trainer

I believe that physical activity is one of the best investments that we can make with our time.

Very few activities in our day to day lives can bring us such pleasure and fulfillment as moving

our bodies. I apply this philosophy to my training as I strive to help people of all fitness levels

improve their ability to use their bodies to their maximum potential. I will listen to your goals and

your concerns carefully and use those to foster a training environment in which you feel excited,

challenged and rewarded.

Callie Wesson

Todd Stone

BS – Exercise Physiology - Central Washington University

ACE Certified Personal Trainer

CrossFit L-1 Trainer

Personal training should be something you enjoy doing and something that yields results. While there are many programs that can get someone in shape, they are only effective if followed. It is important to find a plan that you are confident you can and want to keep up with. Spending time in physical therapy, organized sports, and Crossfit, I have discovered the importance of keeping training fun, results oriented and something you can do for the rest of your life.

Samantha Gwazdauskas

MS – Kinesiology & Sports Nutrition

BA – Nutritional Science & Dietetics

My background in health and fitness has been extensive, both personally and professionally. With my Bachelor's Degree in Nutritional Science and Dietetics, I have had the opportunity to work nutritionally with people from all walks of life, reaching a variety of goals. After completing my Masters in Kinesiology and Sport Nutrition, I have since gained an important element to support my passion for physical activity and whole nutritious foods. Most importantly, I better understand the value in an individualized client journey. My training mentality is that all of my clients/athletes have the ability to build their ideal body. For asthetic, performance, or longevity purposes. This stems from my personal experience competing and coaching in the sport of bodybuilding as well as a love for outdoor adventures. My job is to empower, educate, and motivate my clients. A good trainer can make anyone sweat, but a great coach inspires a greater drive for success within their clients. Each day I work to do just that. Be a better coach, not just a good trainer.

Cheyanne Bowers

BS – Exercise Science

NSCA – Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

ACSM – Certified Exercise Physiologist

“While competing in track and field at the collegiate level, I obtained my B.S. in Exercise Science. After completing my competitive career, I took on the role of coaching and helping athletes reach their fullest potential. My personal coaching philosophy revolves around the belief that everyone is born an athlete. As a coach, it is my job to help you build, remember, and/or rediscover that inner athlete.  To do this, I use evidence and research based exercise programming, hard work, and constant encouragement to help you achieve wellness in every aspect of life.”

Michael Howe

I discovered my enthusiasm for fitness through my ongoing pursuit of becoming a firefighter. A career in the fire service is extremely physically demanding, so I knew I had to be in great physical condition. While building an exercise program, I learned about the importance of functional movements and core strength. These are vital components of any exercise program.

Fitness is a constant progression where we are always looking for new ways to challenge ourselves. As a personal trainer my job is to design a safe and effective program that will help you attain your goals. I want to share my excitement for healthy living with others and inspire them to always look for a new challenge.
